Evaluation Of Team Management
Evaluating how we worked productively and effectively as a team is based on our collaborative contract which was put in place to ensure successful teamwork by all members of our communication campaign.
Project
Feedback from client said that they got more students coming to the office to ask for application procedure as well as receiving more questions of interest via Facebook. By conducting our tactical efforts, we achieved tangible results such as people attending the event, social media stats, post-campaign survey stats etc. We stayed true to our budget for the most part, we stayed within budget for everything that ICP funded for excluding the printing cost of Global Mobility since it is negotiable that they went over budget for reusable material. We constantly ensured that we played to each other’s strengths and utilised the unique skills that we each possessed, and this meant that everyone contributed to the campaign and also ensured that we created the best campaign that we could.
Conduct
We followed this through with ease. If anyone was arriving late, they would notice the rest first to avoid waiting and wasting time. Everyone showed up in pretty much every meetings. The only excuse for not attending work meeting were only illness, jobs and schedule clash. We managed to work very well as a group despite the cultural differences, allowing us to create this successful strategic campaign to the best of all of our individual and collaborative abilities.During the two weeks in Vietnam when our whole group was together, we worked very efficiently to create a broad strategy and the basic tactics we intended to use. We got a lot of work done in a short amount of time, as well as got to know each other, and this meant that working across a long-distance for the rest of the campaign was not as difficult as we might have expected.
Communication
Our communication team worked remarkably well as a cohesively and complementary team - especially given the constraints of working transnationally and in different timezones. How we did it was by setting up Skype meetings, Facebook post/private message, Gmail and Google drive. Our Facebook group was the primary mode of communication between the two groups in different countries, but we also utilised other communication technologies such as skype video-called on multiple occasions. We were in constant contact and were always up to date with what the other half of the group was doing so it was rather easy to give feedback.
Responsibilities
The communications team had a discussion before starting out anything in the campaign about who is going to do what based on each persons discipline . As the event took place in Vietnam, the members of the group in Melbourne were unable to assist with the practical elements of getting ready for the event, but while the Vietnam half were completing this, the rest of the group aided in the writing up of evaluation documents and completing the strategic elements of the campaign.
The Melbourne side and Vietnam side have different schedule hence we only set up to meet at least once every week. We did not think this is a set back since we still keep up with the other side very neat with Facebook group and Google Drive. It is fair to say that we dedicated large portion of our time outside class for this course and everyone has sacrificed some of their personal time/schedule in order to excel this project, since it is a very big deal to work for a real client.

Dispute resolution
The risk management tactics and collaborative contract that we created at the start of the campaign was useful, and good to have as a back-up, but fortunately it wasn’t really required since what we’ve done was not a very controversial campaign and we managed to get feedback from our mentors just in time to avoid uncertainty. We didn’t encounter any significant arguments or disagreements, and generally agreed on what course of action to take.
Risk Management
Strong communication amongst group members was maintained throughout the communication project, which aided in the prevention of any conflict or risks.
Decision Making
When it came to the decision making process, initially while all students were in Vietnam, we would discuss the situation and hence come to a decision as a group. However, when the Melbourne students went back and were separated from the Vietnam students, communication through technology was our only option. As the campaign was based in Vietnam, decision making was predominantly conducted by the Vietnam students, whilst the Melbourne students were assigned roles. Although at certain times we would skype to discuss big issues, the smaller ones would have been determined by the Vietnam students, after having discussed face to face with the client.
