About us
Our Interdisciplinary Communications Project (ICP) team is comprised of ten RMIT students from Australia and Vietnam, emanating from the Professional Communication, Advertising, Communication Design, and Media disciplines.
With the Global Mobility Department at RMIT Vietnam International University as our client we were given a clear set of goals for a communication campaign, which we adapted into a workable and achievable set of objectives. Most of these objectives were duly met, with both the successes and shortcomings positively contributing to the solidity and longevity of this campaign. In creating and implementing this campaign, we employed each member’s unique skill sets and talents to ensure we formulated a plan that was as effective and workable as possible.
Working in two entirely different international contexts, communication between our Australian and Vietnamese team members was very difficult. However, we used the internet as our main channel of communication to successfully keep up-to-date with the progress of our communication campaign. We used a Facebook page, where everyone discussed and updated each other and discussed what tasks had to be done. We also utilised Facebook messenger for quick discussions between team members. Additionally, Skype was the main platform of communication for face-to-face interaction. Skype was the only tool that allowed the entire team to meet all at once. Overall, despite the different time zones and cultural contexts our communications team managed to bring together our strongest attributes to successful implement the communication strategy.
